Super Duper Studio by Sneha Divias Atelier is a celebration of childhood imagination reinterpreted through a refined architectural lens. Conceived for a Dubai-based client passionate about creativity and education, the brief called for a dynamic environment where children could explore, perform, and express themselves freely. More than a play space, the studio was envisioned as a creative ecosystem — a place that merges learning, art, and performance into a spatial narrative of joy and discovery.
Concept
The concept unfolds around the idea of architecture as storytelling. Arches, curves, and chromatic transitions form the building blocks of a journey that captures the spontaneity of childhood while maintaining visual discipline. Color is treated as both structure and emotion — vivid enough to excite, yet choreographed to remain cohesive. The recurring arch motif, simultaneously structural and symbolic, becomes a gentle cue of continuity and imagination, linking each zone in a flowing sequence of discovery.
Various Design Elements
From the moment one enters through the bold red portal framed in lavender, yellow, and green, the studio declares its identity: confident, optimistic, and unafraid of play. The layout reveals itself gradually — a curved stage framed by emerald curtains anchors the heart of the space, while creative corners such as the “Nail Bar” and art display walls offer tactile engagement. Red mesh partitions subtly define boundaries without creating barriers, maintaining visibility and connection. A dialogue between matte and gloss finishes enhances light play, ensuring the exuberant palette remains grounded and sophisticated.
About the Execution
Executed with precision and sensitivity, every detail — from custom joinery to powder-coated structures — was crafted to balance durability with delight. Collaboration with specialized fabricators ensured the arches, mesh partitions, and curved forms retained their sculptural purity while meeting stringent safety and performance requirements.
About the Ambience
The atmosphere is immersive and uplifting. Natural light diffuses softly across bold hues, revealing a rhythm of calm amid color. The design achieves what few children’s environments do — an emotional equilibrium between stimulation and serenity. Here, curiosity feels natural, and creativity, inevitable.
Challenges Overcome
Designing Super Duper Studio required finding harmony between playfulness and restraint. One of the main challenges lay in representing the brand identity without overstimulating the space through an excess of color or pattern. The open-plan layout also needed to remain multifunctional, adaptable, and intuitively navigable for children, teachers, and parents alike. Finally, the design demanded clever, concealed storage solutions that preserved the clean and sculptural aesthetic without compromising functionality or flow.
Unique / Key Features
Layered arches, an emerald-draped stage, and tactile materials compose a visual identity that is instantly recognizable. The recurring use of gradients and curved geometries translates the language of play into architectural form, creating a sense of continuity and movement that mirrors a child’s imaginative journey.
Material Selection
A vibrant yet balanced palette of powder-coated metal, terrazzo, natural oak, high-gloss lacquer, and polished epoxy flooring defines the studio’s tactile landscape. Each finish was selected for its resilience, sensory richness, and ease of maintenance, ensuring that beauty and practicality coexist harmoniously in a space designed for active, creative use.
Furniture
All furniture was custom-designed to reflect the brand’s playful yet refined identity, incorporating bespoke brand patterns and soft geometric silhouettes. The Schneid Studio Junit Gelato Pendant Lamp adds a whimsical yet sculptural note, enhancing the composition with a touch of joyful sophistication.
