Sutton Tower, the tallest residential building on Manhattan’s East side waterfront, rises 850 feet and marks the world's first skyscraper by Danish designer Thomas Juul-Hansen. The 120 corner homes combine panoramic views with refined interiors that merge modern design and classical craftsmanship. A limestone façade reflects the neighborhood’s heritage, while a champagne-hued stainless steel crown is inspired by Manhattan’s landmark towers. Residents enjoy the Sutton Club, a 22,000-square-foot amenity collection spread across five floors. The tower is developed by JVP Development and Gamma Real Estate.
Renowned for his meticulous design approach, Danish designer Thomas Juul-Hansen has infused the interior and exterior of Sutton Tower with intricate carved stone details. Fully clad in Bavarian limestone from base to crown — a feat rarely seen in today’s construction — the building harkens back to a bygone era of architecture with its unparalleled craftsmanship.
Juul-Hansen carries this hand-crafted approach inside the building, with homes boasting solid oak floors, bathrooms with book-matched marble slab accent walls and sinks carved from monolithic marble blocks. This highly curated design results in homes that function as true works of art.
Sutton Tower offers 120 one-to-five-bedroom residences, with a maximum of three homes per floor. Each home is a corner unit offering at least two exposures, while select penthouses also include south-facing outdoor loggias with endless views. The elegant homes boast 15-foot ceilings and oversized windows that flood the spaces with natural light and offer panoramic views of the New York City skyline. Elevated design elements inside the homes include ebonized oak entry doors and custom wainscoting. The attention to detail continues into the kitchens with Statuarietto marble islands featuring curved edges, as well as Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances surrounded by custom Italkraft cabinetry and pulls. Primary bathrooms feature radiant heated floors, Laufen soaking tubs and curved sinks carved from single blocks of Bianco Dolomiti marble.
