Tea outside the box

xuong xep as Architects

As time goes by, the rapid growth of urbanization is slowly pushing back the abundant of public spaces, leading to mass disappearance of human-to-human interactions, no longer is the scenery of people having tea breaks while chatting around by the road a common thing to see.

To resolve this problem with a tender approach, Tea-outside-the-box brings to the table a complete opposite style and value of street vendor when compared to others in the field. As a place that customers can drop by to get a drink, while exchanging casual conversation with the provided space - tucked away in the corner of the street, leaving more area for small talks and interactions.

The opening mechanisms of the module have been carefully planned to promote flexibility in usage depending on the user needs, as when closed, the module shrinks itself neatly, returning space for passing by pedestrians.

Living in a thriving age of technology and infrastructure, it is not necessary for us to close our doors to ourself, rather, a flexible and generous approach in design can help us erase the invisible barrier between human. With that in mind, we hope that Tea-outside-the-box will become a place which encourage people to escape their own box, to go out and socialize with each other, rekindling our sense of community in this modern world.
