This accommodation facility, completed in 2020, is located in a place of absolute peace and tranquility and in a strategic position for organising a tour of the Marche region to discover its landscapes, architecture and food and wine.

As this is a building renovation in the broadest sense of the word, going so far as to demolish the existing structure, the engineer deliberately combined the 'new' with the 'traditional', using forms and materials from the latest architectural trends and developments. The exposed façade was created using only the bricks from the demolition of the 19th century farmhouse, and elegantly matches the bleached laminated wood used for the roof and floors. The exposed brickwork and glulam wood form a unicum that lightens the imposing appearance of the structure.

The heating system is fuelled by biomass, using olive stones, the woody core part of the olive, which is recovered in the oil production process. The olive oil mill and the farmhouse are energy self-sufficient, thanks to a 21 kW photovoltaic system on the roof of the mill.

Particular attention was paid to the thermal insulation of the building envelope, for which the building obtained the A+ certification level according to national law, and a carefully designed home automation system.

Inside, on the ground floor, the structure consists of a large hall, where tastings of the olive oil production are held. The double-height living room is a very atmospheric space: a minimalist iron staircase, designed by the architect, gives access to a small mezzanine with a view of the mountains and the sea.

The agritourism consists of a total of 5 rooms, varying in size from 15 to 24 square metres and bearing the names of as many traditional Marche olive varieties. Each room is unique, with distinctive colours and wallpaper.

In the corridor on the first floor, access to the rooms is underlined by the presence of ECLISSE 40, which creates a play of light and shadow, giving movement to this distributive space. Through the splay and the light bronze colouring, the frame creates a kind of opening allowing the entrance to the private area.

"My thought is that the design and image of these doors is innovative, elegant, impactful and perfectly suited not only to purely residential structures, but also to accommodation facilities like the one I designed," said engineer Francesca Mazzarin. "My choice was dictated both by the desire to include new elements in the project, which would contribute to giving freshness and lightness to the location, and by the fact that I found that these new frames and doors contributed to enhancing the spaces in which they were inserted. In this project, the product helped to emphasise the perspective of the rooms, creating rhythm, dynamism and the right play of light and shadow dictated in particular by the depth of the splay".

Inside the rooms, the common denominator is not only the bed headboard, but also the essence of the furniture, which is simple yet refined. The shapes and details are clean and essential, while the carefully restored antique furniture stands out in contrast, evoking stories of years gone by.

The result is an informal environment with every comfort, where it is easy to feel at home and where no detail has been left to chance. The four rooms on the first floor share a living room with kitchenette
