With the expanding of the 5G commercialization and the emergence of new technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data, AI, and cloud computing, people continue to look forward to a high-quality life in the future. The 5G smart community is the necessary link between ‘smart city’ and the ‘smart homes’ within the community, combining urbanity and technology. In our design we explored ways to a smart and inspiring community, started from spatial-, intelligent design to operation mode design. Combined with the actual situation of the project, we strive to build a new community form with an excellent multi-level set-up, created with help of 5G technology.
Manufacturing used to be the cornerstone of Jinghai's industry, the vigorous private enterprise ecology was once the famous label of Jinghai. The Change is the real constant. Jinghai, will take intelligent manufacturing as the transformation and development direction, taking the opportunity of building a "Serving Xiong'an New District Demonstration Area", building efficient links between manufacturing and creation, becoming a destination for displaying smart life and linking industries.The 5G smart community is the first seed of this development strategy. It will explore six innovation genes of the future community: job opportunities, connections, innovation and upgrading, engagement, resilience diversity and community.
The fundamental vision is to offer different kinds of living modes for families and for singles, highly flexible and adaptive to future needs, in which growing businesses and life styles can team-up and strengthen each other. The master plan intends to remove physical and psychological barriers which are generally used to identify the edge of the urban block and integrates the development better into the surroundings by using 5G technology instead of door passes, creating a place that is livable, sustainable, open, safe and resilient.
While planning the new urban intelligent street as a community centre, rather than a car dominated street, we create a necessary urban edge on the east side with a seamless walking street as interface between our development and commercial area. On the west side we connect the green buffer as an extended leisure space into the development by creating green open spaces along the perimeter. Facing the river, which extend into our new development, creating unimpeded continues green courtyards.
Smart Street, through a smart design, integrate people and vehicles, and the environment. On the smart street, AI camera realizes personnel dynamic identification and non-inductive security management, smart curb allows users to find shared parking spaces and unmanned shared cars, smart light poles provide charging sites for robotic devices, smart signal lights regulate traffic flow and provide pedestrians with green wave signals.
In Smart Commercial Street, unmanned supermarket, robot restaurant, VR interactive Tmall shop, interactive lighting, providing a full-time, creative and vibrant living place.
In all regional landscapes: waterfront green space provides a valuable place for science and technology personnel to live, smart environmental management system will dynamically adjust the humidity and quality of air and water to create a comfortable season experience, green extends into the community, creating a continuous, diverse, and all-age leisure space.
Diversified apartment product supply and rich public service facilities layout make the community a heterogeneous and inspiring place. The non-inductive flexible border management technology equipped with 5G technology provides security protection for the open and mixed community. The design of apartment products follows the five concepts of technology, personality, green, low cost and localization, target two types of target groups through two basic modules, formed 5 types of house benchmarks, and a variety of flexible houses, including graduate apartment, single apartment, young family apartment, second child family apartment, expert apartment. Exploring different living needs and design corresponding living scenarios to form a complete growth path for the 5G community. Early research career needs for affordable housing and interpersonal communication, medium-term career needs for variable living and flexible work spaces, later career needs for value enhancement and family participation. The trajectory of life extended by personal needs makes the living unit variable so that the family can grow together. Simple and sustainable interior materials, audio-controlled robot furniture, 5G smart homes. Traditional residences combined with the residential services derived from personal needs make the home more intimate.
The ‘Sport and Activity courtyard’ includes a sport center as the main feature building and provides numerous outdoor activity possibilities for the whole community. Shared restaurant provides a creative place for young people to meet romantically. The Sky Garden provides a place for working elites to relax. The multi-colored corridor connects functions, providing children with a fantastic space.
The ‘Urban Showroom’, has commercial and urban lobbies including the exhibition building which offers conference and hotel services. Additional spaces are especially available to the community on demand or for specialized venues for particular events. Landmark building provides a variety of mixed functions. The continuous ramps on the lower floors traverse the indoor and outdoor spaces, connecting the sky garden, providing an unforgettable social life experience, creating an excellent portal image for the smart community.

The sustainable technologies from communities and buildings to indoors makes 5G smart communities a self-circulating and self-growing life.
In smart tech, together with the excellent technology of Alibaba Group, a strategic partner of Tianjin Urban Planning and Design Institute, through horizontal and vertical system pull-throughs, to achieve the six core capabilities of smart communities. In terms of vertical architecture, relying on the operational capabilities of Alibaba Cloud’s brain, 5G smart communities will connect and pull through the city’s data infrastructure with micro-aware units, and realize community micro-services and micro-innovations through data intelligent services. In terms of horizontal architecture, build a full-frame solution based on the perception of the Internet of Things, data support and business service capabilities for C-end residents, B-end communities and G-end governments.
Smart Living: Tmall Genie, integrated interaction technology, superimposed sensory AI capabilities, equipped with partner ecology, let home, relax in smart interaction. Intelligent management: Intelligent property management and scene support capabilities based on integrated data-pan perception-intelligent disposal, forming an event-driven closed loop of intelligent management, so that the community can feel at ease in low-risk response. Smart Service: Build a 12-hour community life circle with community as the unit, use the application applet as the touch point, and use AI character portrait technology to smartly drain, so that the community service can understand you better.
The visual command center located in the community center, relying on the powerful processing capabilities of the cloud platform, realizes real-time monitoring, scheduling and management of the community. The application terminal design for docking to C and to B is integrated into the Alipay entrance, which greatly saves the cost of design, operation and maintenance. The interface will be automatically adjusted according to the frequency of use and user preferences, to achieve a humanized and aging operation.
We believe that the seeds of the 5G smart community will determine the growth of industrial innovation in the future.
