Torrevieja Auditorium

Actiu as Manufacturers

The International Music Auditorium in Torrevieja, designed by the architect José María Tomás, is located next to a place of scenic interest 'Alto de San Jaime', surrounded by two salt mines to the East and West, the source of wealth for the town. The building stands within a 95665 m2 large landscaped garden, and within it an Auditorium and a Conservatory, the latter designed within the bounds of the University campus.

The Auditorium is made up of a symphony hall for 1450 spectators with a stage that occupies nearly 400 m2 and is equipped with the most modern stage equipment and a camera room with a capacity for 385 people.

An exterior hall surrounds both rooms and encompasses a volume with an elliptical floor plan, adapting to the uneven ground, creating a transitional space between the exterior and the interior. The exterior glass facade enables you to communicate visually with the landscape to the interior spaces. The Customer Service counter Informa presides over the wide main entrance of the Auditorium. It is also present at the entrance of the conservatory. ( See gallery)

The Teaching Conservatory which can accommodate 240 students , is equipped with a choir and orchestra room whose platform, which serves as a stage, has been equipped with the Trama desk, folding and with castors which provides an easy and simple transfer. It also has 5 individual instrumental teaching rooms, 13 collective teaching rooms, 11 chamber music teaching rooms, 14 booths, library, video library, music library, electronic music lab, as well as a body technique and dance room. In all the rooms devoted to musical teaching the Plek chair has been placed which thanks to its easy folding and storage allows various configurations, according to need.

The other classrooms have been equipped with Spacio chairs with writing tablets and backs made of polypropylene in red.

The library has been designed by groups of colour corresponding to a varied colour range of the Mit chair. With the Cubic program the shelves serve as both filing and storage of documentary material, as well as separating ambiences and creating a contemplation area.

The cafeteria desks and Uma chairs with upholstered arms bring a touch of freshness to the light bar.
