For the two semi-detached houses, we tried to break away from the standard look of a semi-detached house by using different design elements.
For the western semi-detached house in dark pre-greying glaze, we chose a separate frame for the windows on the upper floors as a passe-partout, as the windows facing west towards the open fields conceptually act like a picture frame from the inside.
On the entrance side in particular, a passe-partout connects the windows on the ground floor with those on the upper floor in a grand gesture.
For the eastern semi-detached house, the clients wanted to preserve the natural feel of the wooden façade. Over the next few years, it will adapt to the grey façade of the western house before eventually turning completely silver-grey.
The defining design concept for the eastern building was the covered seating areas to the side of the respective living areas. Together with the garages, these form a coherent, single-storey structure that connects the two semi-detached houses and, above all, joins them together from the entrance side.
