A concept was developed for the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business Metcalf Center, a 150,000 sq. ft. residence hall and mixed-use facility that includes dorms, offices, student activity areas, and retail space. This facility is to be located south of the historic Midway Plaissance and is designed to integrate the campus areas to the north with the south.
This residential facility is intended to operate as a catalyst for housing, inspiring University of Chicago students to live near the campus, rather than downtown Chicago or the Northside. The building concept creates communal spaces that promote social and business interaction.
