Located in Setor Bueno, one of Goiânia’s most established neighbourhoods, the Vaca Brava Penthouse occupies the upper levels of a residential tower designed by Studio Arthur Casas. With a total area of 808 m², the apartment is conceived as a ‘suspended house,’ opening fully toward Vaca Brava Park and the surrounding city. This privileged position allows the landscape to become a constant presence in daily life, with panoramic views and sunsets shaping the spatial experience.

Rather than emphasising spectacle, the project prioritizes permanence, comfort, and a strong relationship to place. Large openings connect interior living spaces to the park canopy, reducing reliance on artificial lighting during the day and reinforcing a sense of continuity between inside and outside.

Spatial organisation and domestic scale

The apartment is organised as a sequence of generous yet clearly defined environments, balancing openness with moments of intimacy. Social areas including living rooms, dining spaces, a gourmet veranda, gym, and pool are aligned parallel to the park, creating a continuous façade of leisure and contemplation. These spaces operate as extensions of one another, allowing flexible use while maintaining a strong domestic character.

Despite its scale, the penthouse avoids the feel of a conventional luxury apartment. Instead, the layout recalls a single-family home, elevated above the city, with clear transitions between social, private, and contemplative zones.

Materiality and environmental comfort

Natural materials define the project’s architectural language. Wood ceilings and stone flooring establish a tactile, durable palette that frames the views without competing with them. These materials contribute to thermal comfort, acoustic control, and long-term resilience, reducing the need for frequent replacement and maintenance.

Landscaping is integrated throughout the apartment, blurring the boundary between built space and nature. Designed to visually merge with the treetops of Vaca Brava Park, the planting strategy enhances indoor air quality and reinforces a biophilic atmosphere, while remaining low-maintenance and appropriate to the local climate.

Art, craft, and the library as structure

Art is not treated as decoration but as an organizing element of the home. Works by regional artists, alongside Brazilian furniture from the mid-20th century, are carefully positioned to interact with architecture, light, and circulation. The neutral material backdrop allows these pieces to remain visually prominent while aging gracefully over time.

At the heart of the residence is a 180 m² library, designed to house an extensive book collection alongside artworks and objects. Custom carpentry maximises storage and display, while structural reinforcements to the slab ensure long-term safety and durability. The library functions simultaneously as study, meeting space, and home theatre, reinforcing the idea of the apartment as a place for reflection as much as leisure.
