With creative designs and works of art, this apartment signed by Carol Haddad transforms into a cozy home for a couple and their two children.
This 260m² apartment emerges as a contemporary retreat, resulting from a five-month renovation by CADDA Architecture, led by architect Carolina Haddad. The project was born from a couple’s desire, with two children, to create a space that combines functionality and safety. The result is carefully designed environments that meet the needs of all family members. Through smart solutions, the architect repurposed some furniture from the residents’ previous apartment, reintegrating it into the boy’s room, the kids’ area, and as artwork in the living room—adding meaningful touches that make the residents feel at home.
The spacious entrance hall welcomes visitors with an imposing door and textured wallpaper that adds a touch of sophistication. A piece by the Minas Gerais artist Tunica Barbosa adorns the space, giving it a unique character.
The large living room stands out by seamlessly integrating with the dining area, creating a fluid and inviting atmosphere with furniture from Breton and rugs from Tapetah. The carpentry is a highlight, with a 'box' style that covers the walls and ceiling of the entrance, featuring camouflaged doors. A built-in, suspended sideboard adds functionality and lightness to the space, while a multifunctional coffee table, serving as both support and pouf, completes the decor. Details like the table necklace, designed by Ceará artist Roberto Dias, add a special charm.
The dining area, with its intimate proposal, is illuminated by elegant pendant lights and features a wine cellar perfect for the family’s collection. Artwork from Tunica Barbosa’s Gallery further enriches the space, creating a cozy environment for family meals.
The living area on the balcony is a true invitation to relax, with a sofa and armchair ensuring comfort, complemented by lush landscaping. The combination of wood and rustic bricks creates a warm and laid-back environment.
On the rooftop terrace, the building’s rounded shape emphasizes architectural features, with pillars that become works of art. The space includes a large wooden table, a well-equipped barbecue grill, and a wall with geometric-patterned greenish tiles, adding a modern and artistic touch. A TV with a swivel mount allows entertainment from various angles.
In the kitchen, the mix of gray and terracotta tones in the chairs with the wood cabinets was designed to facilitate daily life. Spacious cabinets provide ample storage, while the brick wall adds rustic charm. A playful area with a chalkboard allows both adults and children to have fun writing the day’s menu.
The home office features custom carpentry with wide shelves and wall supports, creating an organized and functional space for the resident and her children during study time. The TV room also serves as a kids’ area, equipped with niches and bins for toy organization, along with an electric sofa bed for family relaxation and hosting visitors. The coffee table, designed by Estudio Bola, features different proportions. Smart automation systems have been integrated throughout these environments and the entire apartment.
