Villa Anka

The pitched roof and the cornice height were defined by local building restrictions. Big carves out of the volume make place for windows to bring natural light in the upper floor rooms. The low height of the cornice and the simple volumetric make the building appear as a big garden pavillion.

The floor plan appears as a sequense of interconnected but well defined rooms with differing views to the surrounding garden. The spaciality of the house is a newfound balance between the contemporary open living space and the traditional house with separate rooms. This balance is also present in the choice of materials: contemporary abstraction versus premodern rusticity.
