Background

Villa Maria Catholic Homes (VMCH) is a values-driven aged care and disability care provider deeply committed to compassion, hospitality and courage. For their new office fitout in Melbourne, Australia, VMCH sought a construction partner who would approach the project with the same dedication they bring to their clients.

They envisioned a workplace that would authentically reflect their organisational values while prioritising staff wellbeing through thoughtfully designed working and collaboration zones. In partnership with design studio PTID, we created an environment that balances productivity with warmth and purpose.

We delivered the project with careful attention to VMCH's values and operational needs, translating PTID's design intent through meticulous coordination of all trades and finishes. From initial planning through to handover, our team maintained close communication with VMCH, ensuring the construction process reflected the respect and care central to their mission. A carefully sequenced programme prioritised quality whilst allowing essential services to continue uninterrupted.

The fitout encompasses diverse working zones tailored to different needs: private focus rooms with acoustic glazing for concentrated work, collaborative breakout areas with flexible seating, and quiet wellbeing spaces designed for reflection. Integrated technology solutions were woven throughout PTID's design to ensure intuitive functionality that supports natural collaboration and efficient workflows.

Outcome

The completed workspace is a welcoming and functional environment that genuinely supports how VMCH's team works. Soft sage and deeper blue accent tones combine with natural timber finishes and varied textures to create a calming atmosphere that enhances focus and productivity. Staff benefit from versatile settings that adapt throughout the day—whether they require privacy, collaboration, or casual interaction.

The considered use of biophilic elements, natural light, and thoughtfully selected furnishings reflects VMCH's commitment to staff wellbeing across all zones.
