The project began in the warm autumn, when we first entered the new apartment without a single wall and caught the feeling of warmth and light, due to the large number of windows and the height of the ceilings, and such a bright autumn sun. This first impression was clearly imprinted on the entire future interior. Light and rich warm colors are the two main semantic lines that we tried to bring to balance in a single space.
Layout.
Despite the huge number of windows and the high ceiling (3.6 m), the apartment is not small in area (100 sq. m), while the task was to fit a bedroom with its own bathroom and wardrobe, two children's rooms, a bathroom and a spacious kitchen-living room. There were not so many options for how to combine this, because of this, the layout turned out to be unusual and interesting. The bedroom is separated from the kitchen-living room by hinged doors and if they are open, then the entire master block is combined with the living room and kitchen, at the same time, the children's rooms with their own bathroom are separated by corridors from the main rooms, so the apartment is logically divided into adult and children's parts.
An unusual detail when planning the dressing room in the master block was to fit in a small work desk, separated from the bedroom by a skylight. It turned out to be such a cute atypical space, like a reading corner in the wardrobe.
Shell:
When working with the decor and plasticity of the walls, we did not want to get an enveloping calm interior, but to preserve the feeling of freshness, contrast, purity and beauty. Therefore, the basis was chosen to be snow-white walls with solemn plaster moldings, classic white doors, high baseboards. We balanced all this with glossy panels and furniture made of walnut veneer, a rich reddish-brown color. Such a bright material with a reference to the mid-century era helped us achieve the desired contrast, and also gave the space eclecticism and individual aesthetics. In none of our projects can we do without natural stone, here we used white and black marble.
Items:
In the general palette of the interior, in support of white, black, and brown, we really wanted to use the red color. It found its place in the main item of the living room - thus appeared a sofa, the color of a ripe tomato. Usually in the living room, the sofa group is the center of attraction and general gathering, so where not here can you make a bold, burning accent. The kitchen, TV stand and dining table with a stone tabletop are made according to our sketches. Like most of the furniture in the apartment. Around the dining table, completely different chairs are gathered. As additional decorative light, we used vintage pendant lamps.
Art:
We think about the viewpoints where paintings and art objects will be located from the very beginning of the design. The authors and works were selected at the concept stage and took their places during the final decoration, ideally complementing and completing the aesthetics of the interior.
