This four-building, eight-townhouse project is the fourth community by Poon Design for the resort city of Whitefish. Our design promotes Modernism within the traditional mountain architecture of the region. The street facing buildings offer contextual facades familiar within the area, whereas for the buildings closer to Whitefish River and the Rocky Mountains, the design transitions to a contemporary language.
On a one-acre, river-adjacent, hillside site, the 2,800-square-foot, four-bedroom units are clad in Cedar—black-stained vertical siding and rough-hewn horizontal siding, accented with local Glacier stone. Large balconies take in the river and mountain views. Applying the Casal sentiment that music is the notes, as well as the space between the notes, we pay attention to the spaces between the buildings, providing social areas for outdoor gathering and recreation.
