Spatial Design Architects as Architects

Spatial Design Architects were contacted by our client to undertake two projects to their existing property and to co-ordinate an extensive garden landscape design.

Project one was a large single-storey rear extension to create an extended kitchen, dining, and family room, to connect to a large patio. Project two was a contemporary outbuilding at the end of the garden that was connected to the koi fishpond and new garden layout.

Materialization
An idea of individual zinc clad pods linked together, the tallest pod being in the middle and the two lower pods book ending the design. The pods benefitted the interior with fully glazed facades set within zinc framed walls, blurring the boundaries between the internal and external spaces. The pods had sedum roofs and electric opening roof lights to allow natural ventilation and light into the spaces below.

The outbuilding was to incorporate a workshop for the owners’ motorcycles, a gym complex and spa plunge pool. Our vision for the architectural design was enhanced by the beautiful landscape design and our client now enjoys the summer evenings in an amazing environment.
