We had the idea of extending the picturesque Ammerseehaus, formerly a typical settler house from the 1930s. We placed a wooden deck on the upper ceiling supports, which was structurally possible thanks to the building’s solid masonry. In order to more than double the office space, the wooden surface projects over the lower floor – and on the eastern side facing the lake, it widens into a large, expansive loggia with an inclined floor area. The simple saddle roof design fits conceptually into the local context and makes references to the lake: the untreated cladding of the structure and the matt gray metal roof refer to the character of the boat houses.
