*In the Heart of Ubud: A Family Sanctuary in Harmony with Nature*
In the heart of Bali, where mountains merge with dense jungle and rice fields reflect the dawn light, this home in Ubud becomes a refuge of serenity and connection. Known for its rich cultural heritage and sacred temples, Ubud offered the perfect setting for Carlos and Elena, who, after years of traveling the world, found a place to anchor their lives and provide their daughter Alma with a lifestyle and education aligned with nature and local spirituality.

The story of this home begins with the desire to create a space where family rhythms flow harmoniously—a place where mornings start with the gentle murmur of nature and offerings at nearby temples. Every corner was designed to embrace daily life: a warm kitchen to bring the family together, a serene space for yoga practice, and areas dedicated to study and creativity. They sought not only a house but a space that breathed with them, in communion with Ubud’s atmosphere and traditions.

The construction itself was a project, where each chosen material—from wooden shingles to hand-crafted terrazzo—paid homage to the island’s artisanal techniques. Working with local artisans, integrating Bankirai and Ulin woods, and selecting carefully molded clay bricks was essential in creating a structure that breathes the authenticity of Ubud. The house merges traditional architecture with contemporary spatiality, using metal reinforcements to create wide-open spaces, allowing nature to enter and infuse every moment of daily life.

The furniture, mostly custom-designed and crafted, reflects the soul of this project: sustainability and respect for craftsmanship. Each piece, from recycled teak furniture to sculptures in the living room, was selected or created to maintain a connection with the materials and surroundings, achieving coherence that merges aesthetics and functionality.

And so each day unfolds in this Ubud home, with the first ray of sunlight waking the house, followed by the quiet activity of gardeners and neighbors offering prayers at small altars. The afternoon fades, and the day ends with the family gathered in the kitchen, sharing stories and flavors that only a home built from the heart can offer. In this place, Carlos, Elena, and Alma have finally found the sanctuary they always sought around the world.
