The refurbishment of Enfield Business Centre for Enfield Council was financed by the Mayor's Outer London Fund Round Two.
RCKa worked closely with stakeholder groups including the council, local businesses and existing tenants to nurture a brief which rebranded the centre as a new hub for enterprise within the borough. Key aims of the project included the creation of new flexible meeting, reception and event space; hot-desking area to support new local businesses; creation of a welcoming and inspiring environment for visitors and occupants of the building; and improved accessibility and visibility from the street which increases awareness of the centre's presence.
The scheme was identified as an exemplar project for the Outer London Fund in the way that it successfully used a modest budget to achieve a significant increase in the daily users of the building, and was opened by the Deputy Mayor of London in September 2014.
Enfield Business Centre is one of 24 projects shortlisted for the AJ Small Projects 2015.
