Aurora Cultural Centre

The Aurora Cultural Centre revitalizes Aurora’s historic core by transforming the nationally significant 1885 Church Street School into a vibrant cultural hub. As part of the Town’s Cultural Precinct and Town Square initiative, the project pairs a 32,000 sq. ft. addition with selective renovation, uniting heritage preservation and contemporary cultural infrastructure into a cohesive civic campus. Sûreté du Québec Police Station, Waterloo

Located on a sloping site between an industrial district and a residential neighborhood, the new Sûreté du Québec police station in Waterloo is conceived as a compact, specialized civic building whose roof functions as a fifth elevation. The program brings together administrative areas, officer services, investigation spaces, and a detention sector, each requiring strict security, confidentiality, and acoustic separation. The building settles into the topography with a restrained street facade while opening toward the landscape. In 2015, ARM was given the enormous responsibility and privilege of upgrading the iconic building’s Concert Hall. The project called for modifications that were sensitive and respectful of the heritage building, whilst elevating the acoustics to a world-class standard. This year, they opened new back offices for the Czech Republic in Prague. The new offices are located in direct connection with one of the three stores in Prague. It is therefore a fit-out to the shopping center.
