Our 5,700 sf Ports 1961 store resides on the prestigious Rue St Honore in Paris, France, occupying three-stories next to the Mandarin Hotel. The retail ground floor features delicate Venetian plaster walls with 3D patterns, which transition to the upper VIP floor in a warmer, gold tone. The upper floor also features grey, mat Siberian hardwood, while the ground floor patterns limestone. Sculpted stairs connect the upper and lower levels, and other architectural additions include mirror columns, recessed lighting, and custom fixtures in polished chrome— all of which glow on adjacent clothing and surfaces. A retail experience that embraces the history of The Bund as an important port and art-deco district. CHALLENGEFor this project, we were tasked with designing a flagship retail experience in Shanghai for fashion brand Ports 1961. The design had to embrace the history and character of The Bund, a downtown cultural district known for its art-deco style and—history as one of China’s most important ports—while creating a signature brand system that could be applied in locations around the world. INSCAPE, a new meditation concept, opened in Manhattan 2016. Archi-Tectonics designed the Inscape concept not only as a one-off, but also for worldwide distribution. The first PROTO space in Chelsea occupies a large 6000sf ground floor. The space contains a set of large volumes; ellipsoid meditation spaces; a “Dome Room” and an “Alcove room”, an extensive retail space, as well as a lounge for guests. An important element of healthy living is found in lifestyle changes, meditation and ‘cleaner’ live-work environments. The “Apartment SS” project included a complete adaptation of the apartment located in Banovo Brdo disctrict (Belgrade), in a residential building from the 1960s. The works took nearly a year and included architectural and furniture design as well as full supervision of the process.The client, a young choreographer, wanted to turn a somewhat shabby old apartment, that was almost untouched since the time in which it was built, into a strongly personalized, modern and aesthetically boldly shaped living space.The functional challenge was fitting an entry hall with a wardrobe and a shoe closet, a kitchen with a dining room, a bedroom with a makeup table and a dresser, and a living room, into a small surface area of 51 square meters.As a result,... It’s the project of an unconventional and theatrical space aimed to match the plastic qualities of Marazzi’s bathroom products. Defined by a freely moving plastic curtain whose fluid aesthetic enhances the project’s theme, the space is divided in two. The first section is filled with a calm abstract atmosphere, with a graphically patterned floor of blue mosaic tiles, organic shaped lighting elements on the ceiling and hedges of white reeds framing the presentation of pristine basins. The new administrative and logistics centre of Ibenergi, an energy consulting company, is located in an industrial area of Toledo, Spain. The project is the result of pursuing a more human-cantered and pleasant workplace, attempting to connect the interior of a working environment to the cultivated nature that surrounds the building. © Montse Zamorano The project is divided in two different volumes: one of them are the offices, and the other is a warehouse logistics.
