Moxon Architects and IB Miebach have completed an innovative, sustainable timber and concrete composite bridge for the town of Baiersbronn in southern Germany.  Baiersbronn Bridge strengthens connections within the town’s central area, while enhancing the landscape along the scenic Murg River. The bridge forms the showpiece of the region’s 2025 garden show, which covers 8km across Baiersbronn and Freudenstadt. AHRTAL BRIDGES

The Ahrtal bridges project involves planning the replacement of the Kurgartenbrücke and Casinobrücke, both destroyed during the 2021 Ahr River flood, along with adjacent public streets, open spaces, and riverbank areas. Its urban integration includes the design of the Kurpromenade, bringing the center of Bad Neuenahr closer to the Ahr and incorporating effective flood protection. The Landesgartenschau New Footbridge over the Neckar River and railroad tracks in Rottweil, pivotal to the 2028 State Garden Show, enhances urban integration and revitalizes the Neckar meander. This elegant bridge invites visitors to engage with the town's landscape from new perspectives, harmoniously connecting the historic city center to the new river landscape. Spanning 175 meters with a clear width of 3.50 meters, it features seating and balconies along its length, accommodating both pedestrians and cyclists with a gentle gradient. The Castle Park Footbridges project in Bedburg is located in the middle of the town center and directly adjoins the main shopping area. The city of Bedburg wants to clearly emphasize the relationship to the Erft River in Bedburg's inner city as well as making the proximity to the water tangible and to create new connections. For this to be achieved, new bridges will be built at the rear of the old town hall and at the southern end of the castle parking lot in the south. Akyokus is the only vista point where the city centre and the impressive plain extending to the east can be viewed from. The Konya Metropolitan Municipality has prepared the "Akyokus Recreational Area" rehabilitation project to add this important location and its surroundings to the urban life of the city. COWI (previously Flint & Neill) and Knight Architects won the competitive bid to design the replacement for the 1870 “Destructor Bridge” in Autumn 2012. The new 45m span will carry pedestrians, cyclists and highway traffic across the River Avon and will connect the Bath Western Riverside development with the existing city.The design is a structurally efficient steel arch form, asymmetric in cross section, which addresses multiple site constraints including a very shallow construction depth. Knostrop Weir Bridge

Knostrop Weir footbridge forms part of the wider Leeds Flood Alleviationscheme. It will be a key link in maintaining a pedestrian and cycle pathway along the River Aire. A simple but dynamic design was developed. Cantilevering piers supported from the new weir cradle a sinuous deck form. Plan curvature produces wider deck areas where people can stop and watch the weir without impeding other users who will be commuting into the City. Careful attention was made to avoid creating any complex curvature in the architectural form of the deck which would have been difficult to fabricate and impact cost. More

The £1.86bn Mersey Gateway is a major new crossing of 2.4km between Runcorn and Widnes, to provide significantly increased local and regional highway connectivity and relieve congestion around the existing Silver Jubilee Bridge.The reference design proposes a unique composition for a major cable-stayed bridge of three towers and two equal main spans of 300m.
