The Castle Park Footbridges project in Bedburg is located in the middle of the town center and directly adjoins the main shopping area. The city of Bedburg wants to clearly emphasize the relationship to the Erft River in Bedburg's inner city as well as making the proximity to the water tangible and to create new connections. For this to be achieved, new bridges will be built at the rear of the old town hall and at the southern end of the castle parking lot in the south.

The two bridges have a slightly similar design and creates new pathways. Respectively in an east-west direction and in a north-south direction, they contribute in opening up the castle park in the direction of Bedburg's city center.
