Terrazza della Femmina

Located on the Sicilian coast near Palermo, this 100-square-metre terrace extension redefines an existing family villa through a lightweight architectural intervention that expands domestic life into the landscape. Originally conceived as a simple master-suite terrace, the project evolved into a layered outdoor environment shaped by climate, craft, and daily rituals. Anthony Cane Anthony Cane Anthony Cane The design is organised around a lightweight steel structure that supports a system of locally sourced reed screens (cannucciato), a traditional Sicilian material typically used for shading and enclosure. Reinterpreted in a contemporary context, the reeds act as a primary architectural device, filtering sunlight, modulating... More

The Dip Pavillion

The Dip Pavilion is conceived as an elemental architectural intervention within an existing residential landscape. Designed primarily for evening use alongside a swimming pool, the pavilion negotiates openness and enclosure while maintaining a calibrated relationship between architecture and landscape.   Caption Caption The project is organized as a linear, transparent volume held beneath a singular roof plane and supported by an independent structural system. Full height glazing allows uninterrupted visual continuity across the garden, while slender columns placed beyond the glass frame the space. This separation preserves the lightness and fluidity of the interior volume while establishing a clear architectural rhythm and... More

Casa A

Casa A  The Barros plot of land does not yield easily. It is a score of inclinations, an irregular map that defies gravity. To the east, the strength of the stone wall raises the gaze; to the west, the streets draw the boundary. An urban void that clamored for infill, a blank canvas awaiting a gesture. Ivo Tavares studio Ivo Tavares studio The response was a whisper to the earth, not a shout. Instead of mastering the slope, we chose to listen to it and accompany it. The architecture was born from the modeling, from the idea of creating terraces and plateaus, like steps that lead us from chaos to order. Ivo Tavares studio Thus, the building is an organism that breathes with the ground. Two horizontal planes, simple in... More

Concrete Villa

Located in Ravels, Belgium, Concrete Villa is a contemporary single-family residence that explores how exposed concrete can serve not only as a structural solution, but as a climate-responsive and enduring architectural strategy. Conceived as a restrained, L-shaped volume, the house balances solidity with openness, privacy with connection, and permanence with everyday comfort. Aperture 8.6   Site strategy and spatial orientation Set within a quiet residential context, the villa is positioned to form a sheltered courtyard defined by its L-shaped plan. This configuration protects the outdoor space from prevailing winds while opening the primary living areas to optimal daylight. The courtyard becomes an extension of the interior w... More

200_Villa with internal view

On the edge between the urban settlement and the countryside, in a lush and still-authentic landscape, stands a single-family home that finds its identity in the balance between architectural rigor and openness to nature. Designed by MIDE architetti, the residence is laid out on a single level—an elongated horizontal gesture that rests lightly on the ground, guided by principles of subtraction and discretion. Tobias Kaser Tobias Kaser Tobias Kaser The project is articulated into two exposed concrete volumes of different heights, arranged to create fluid, airy, yet intimate spaces. The taller volume houses the main entrance, a spacious covered patio, and the living area—conceived as a bright open space that opens... More

Jaspe Houses

Perched on two adjacent lots in uptown Querétaro, this project embraces the site’s privileged views toward a lush green corridor and the distant hillside. The approach is rooted in our holistic design philosophy—melding bioclimatic performance, structural expression, cultural references, and the human experience. R8 Visuals Taking inspiration from the traditional C-shaped courtyards found in Querétaro’s colonial center, we envisioned each home with an inward-facing plan. This central void not only anchors the spatial organization but also plays a vital role in passive cooling—capturing prevailing winds and relieving the south-facing main facade from excessive heat gain.  The courtyard become... Concrete House

Sited on a corner plot along a major road and opposite a popular hawker centre in Singapore. The two main aspects of the house are less than desirable, having to combat the noise of the traffic of the main street and the service road of the food centre. The design has to mitigate the challenges of a direct western sun exposure and lack of privacy from the busy pedestrian walkways along its boundaries.  Finbar Fallon Client wanted a design that could resolve and rise above these disamenity. To create a haven of tranquillity amidst the surrounding chaos for the multigenerational family of seven.  Finbar Fallon We envision a simple, impervious external form to enclose an internal garden oasis where all the interior spaces... HOUSE IN MECO

Situated on an almost flat rectangular plot of land, the plot is oriented in a Northeast/Southwest direction culminating in a pine forest. FG+SG We designed Meco’s house from the regeneration of a pre-existing house, with the idea of giving it a new character, rebuilding it with another quality. FG+SG The main feature of the house is the relationship with the outside, being rebuilt in a single floor and endowed with a transparent façade that creates a panorama over the pine forest to the southwest from a large glazed area. FG+SG In contrast to the frontage of the façade are two volumes: the agricultural support with its porch, and the tank, both in exposed concrete. One can notice the horizontality of t... More

Casa em Calvos, Guimarães, Portugal

The house is situated on the outskirts of Guimarães, within a planned housing development. The principles of this plan were respected to keep continuity in its design approach. Its corner position and the slope from northwest to south dictated the layout: a concrete basement, housing the garage and technical areas, defines a platform for a regular white volume above. The Quarry House

Amidst rolling farmlands, far removed from Bangalore's urban bustle, is this unique residence flaunting an 18’ cantilever structure, harmoniously blending innovative architectural design with its natural surroundings Designed for a family of five, this home is Vaastu compliant and has profound connection to nature. Despite a plot area of 6650 sft at their disposal, the client emphasized the importance of following the 'Aaya' footprint thus restricting the extent of the ground floor to a mere 2500sft. shamanth patil In order justify the full extent of the property, we conceived an open-plan residence that conveys a sense of vast interior space while maintaining unbroken connection to the outside from every space. Jacaranda House

Set against a backdrop where the natural slope shapes the architectural experience, this residence rises distinctively, embracing the terrain and creating a harmonious integration with the surroundings. Designed for a couple and their two teenage children, the house unfolds in volumes that merge functionality with visual delight. Studio cdsarq   The project originates from the union of two main blocks: the social and the private. These volumes are connected by a glass walkway, almost floating, framing the central leisure area. Here, a majestic Jacarandá tree becomes the focal point, offering shade and a refreshing presence on sunny afternoons. The composition of the wooden deck and the pool enhances a welcoming ambiance,... More

Jade Alley

Project Statement This alleyway revitalization project is part of a large-scale master planned redevelopment of a defunct warehouse district north of downtown Miami.  Over the last few years, multiple phases of new building and programming through a partnership between a local developer and a larger international entity have created the visionary new Design District.  We were asked to conceptualize a vision for an underutilized alley, that would bring a fresh new life for this abandoned space.  The scope included the alley itself, facades of new mixed-use buildings fronting the alley, the renovation of trash rooms in an existing building into small tenant spaces for the alley, as well as a paving and landscape concept. Deportivo Zanatepec

This intervention consisted of restoring the facilities of the sports centre in the municipality of Santo Domingo Zanatepec, Oaxaca, in the Istmo of Tehuantepec Region. The site is characterized by fields of fruit trees, especially mangoes, and views of the western mountains of the Sierra Madre de Chiapas.  AIDIA STUDIO AIDIA STUDIO AIDIA STUDIO The local soccer league maintained a professional field and an amateur field; however, they did not have the basic services that should accompany sports spaces such as a grandstand for spectators, locker rooms, public bathrooms or commercial premises. The objective of the project has been to provide this complementary equipment, as well as an access plaza, a 400m athletics track... More

Centro DIF Comitancillo

Centro DIF is a community center in the heart of San Pedro Comitancillo, a small town in Oaxaca in the Istmo de Tehuantepec region. This intervention replaces a deteriorated single-level facility where care was provided to the community in overcrowded and unsanitary conditions.   AIDIA STUDIO Adapting the architectural program to a 212 m² plot of land has been a real challenge; In the first instance we have decided to divide the program into two levels to decongest the ground floor using an L-shaped layout. By moving part of the program to the second level we have gained free area that has allowed us to articulate the rest of the program. Chiselled Abode

The dramatic exteriors of this project make for an out-of-the-box façade which is achieved by chiseling a cuboid form. While the clean geometry achieves a bold and unique façade, it also helps in negating the harsh sunlight to the west facing entrance. The thoughtfully designed skylight in the northwest ensures that each space receives ample amount of light and ventilation while maintaining a visual connect to the outside. The house has a minimalist interior that's in opposition to its bold exterior.
