Site strategy and spatial orientation
Set within a quiet residential context, the villa is positioned to form a sheltered courtyard defined by its L-shaped plan. This configuration protects the outdoor space from prevailing winds while opening the primary living areas to optimal daylight. The courtyard becomes an extension of the interior with a protected microclimate that encourages seasonal outdoor living.
The building’s orientation maximises passive solar gain during colder months while deep overhangs and recessed glazing limit overheating in summer. Carefully framed openings establish visual continuity with the surrounding landscape without compromising privacy from neighbouring properties.
Material honesty and thermal performance
