BIR HOUSE

The interior design project for this house in İstanbul, designed by Espaces Mimarlık for a communication professor and advertising professional, features the addition of a mezzanine floor to create a brighter and more spacious interior. The homeowner's love of books was a major factor in the project's design, with a sculptural staircase placed in the main living area to serve as a showcase for the collection. Mert Kibar The open-plan living, dining, and recreation area was designed according to the homeowner's wishes. The previously low-ceilinged and cramped interior was opened up by removing the existing false ceilings, and the resulting volume and height were used to create a feeling of space and grandeur in the main living area. Therefore, to revitalise this neglected corner site, a passionate local of Mt Lawley collaborated with MJA Studio to design a mixed-use project to enrich the area.  Jack Lovel The project, Clifton and Central, seeks to celebrate the unique heritage of Mt Lawley and create a place which goes beyond housing by integrating it with open communal spaces. Casa SL

In an irregular lot, the house is located in order to win the major lake view. In relation to this, the social sector appears on the ground floor, composed of living and dining room, kitchen and an opened gallery, free of columns that frames the view and proposes a fluid connection inside - outside. On the same floor, a set of solid volumes, containing services, work as visual barriers and give privacy to the house. Over them, on the first floor, there is a single volume of concrete that contains the private sector, from where you also have a privileged view of the landscape. Another important issue that we developed in this project had to do with the study of different forms of sustainable energy generation. As a result of the an... White House

The house is a progression of spaces which move from the southern entry towards the northern living areas, which open out dramatically to the sea, Rangitoto and Takapuna Beach. A wall clad in vertical cedar boards greets the visitor outside the building, beginning as a fence on the left then morphing seamlessly into the exterior cladding. This surface of timber curves in towards the entry, then flows under a distinctive circular skylight above the front door, into the entry space. The cedar then flips to the right-hand side, continues along the gallery space and curves around to the right, to reinforce the opening out towards the view, and add drama to the expansiveness of the experience. The clients requested a very warm house, s... Etterbeek City Hall

Context and ambition
The new Etterbeek City Hall is located in front of a main road, on Casernes Avenue, in the context of an urban development initiated by the commune on the site called « the Hunting Gardens ». It’s an exceptional opportunity to renew a neighbourhood, a part of the city, and also an opportunity to create a dynamic image for an urban commune.     Site plan   We opted for a clear and open layout for the buildings, favouring lines of communication between the existing neighbourhood and the site’s new development. The communal house was positioned on the corner between Casernes Avenue and Beckers Street for maximum visibility. A pedestrian path that crosses the project was proposed in order to link the future park with the... More

Mitla Apartments

Mitla Apartments are located in Colonia Narvarte, which is in the South zone of Mexico City and conserves, in its urban order, characteristics that still give it a 40’s decade identity, such as streets in a north-south orthogonal grid cut by important diagonal avenues with ridges and functionalist buildings, mostly decorated with multicolored mosaics and that in their ground floors shelter small accessories that give life to the area. Everything begins with the premise of solving a set of dwellings in the same area, following the challenge of reflecting on the different ways of inhabiting the human being; This proposal arises by challenging the boundaries between public and private areas, their interior and their transition spaces tha...
