Siemens City, Vienna

With respect to „green building“, the new company headquarters of Siemens in Austria not only meets the criteria of the EU, but represents an embodiment of the central corporate objective of „sustainability“. This becomes apparent not only in the architecture of the company but also in its fittings. Energy-efficient luminaires with optimum light distribution are one aspect of this. The main emphasis of the entrance axis is placed on the 4.60 metre high, elegant light building elements. Their asymmetrical, flat beam radiation characteristics produce a homogeneous surface illumination, even when the luminaires are spaced far apart. Energy efficiency also becomes apparent in the lamps used: the 50 W LED luminaire generat... More

Emily

Emily is a series of gorgeous lamps with shades that are handmade of sheet steel. She is spray painted in a semi-matte or in a high gloss finish. In the glossy version the metal is painted in up to 10 layers - similar to a process used for high end pianos - which creates an extraordinarily deep, high gloss black finish. This also means you can polish off scratches with standard car polish unless they didn't break the primer. Emily is covered with frosted plexiglass for a beautiful, diffuse illumination of the light, no matter which bulb you use. The textile cable is available in many different colours. Each group is equipped with a frame of oak timber. The source of inspiration for Emily is a work by Andreas Gursky. In his series... More
