The Oasis House is a double house – an outer openwork house that acts as a screen, shield, dome and boundary for the lush inner garden. It connects to the outside world through doors, openwork structures, openings and tilting glass elements. It welcomes the movement of light and air. Its function is to protect and shield the inner ecosystem of the garden and the second, inner house standing in that garden, which does not need a roof, thick walls or tight windows because it is protected by the outer house. It gives it shade, coolness, a microclimate and protection. Set in the city of gold, Dubai; this villa was one of the most challenging projects considering the diverse architectural languages that the city follows. Be it the towering skyscrapers, extremely modern boxed structures or the ornate villas, city sees a lot in terms of spatial expression. Various themes were scrapped, many ideas renegotiated, till we found the form that very closely mirrors desert architecture. The Gate Aveneue at DIFC is an 880-metre long promenade in Dubai with shops and restaurants connecting the buildings in the Gate Avenue financial district. Catalin Marin Architects RMJM hast incorporated a series of three glass gates within Gate Avenue at DIFC in Dubai, which reference the iconic Gate Building. These Gates link the indoor retail mix with the promenade level as well as integrating the inner and outer environments throught vertical circulation and visual connectivity.
