ECLISSE interior sliding door systems for functionality and accessibility

Since 1989, ECLISSE has been producing frames for sliding doors that allow the door to disappear into the wall. Thanks to the sliding door system, the space required by a revolving door is saved. ECLISSE research has led to the development of specific sliding door frames for each building material, for plaster and plasterboard walls, and exclusive patents such as Luce, a sliding door system that has made it possible to place switches and light points next to the doorway.   Uncompromised durability ECLISSE’s sliding door carriages undergo rigorous testing in line with the European standard UNI EN 1527. Designed for doors up to 100kg and 150kg, these carriages endure over 100,000 opening and closing cycles—equivalent to 30... More

House MTGM

165 m2: a single-family home with bright and functional spaces In Bibano, a fraction in the province of Treviso, a two-story house was designed in order to meet the needs of a family with two children. The owner wanted to live in a bright house to fully enjoy the surrounding green setting and the hilly Treviso countryside. The main goal of the project was to be able to arrange adequate spaces, not excessively large, but still functional. To take full advantage of the floorspace and to rationalise the areas, the decision was made to use an open space solution for the ground floor which would contain and conceal all the service rooms. For this reason, access to the laundry and ironing room, the closet and the small bathroom on the lowe... More

House in Notting Hill

The clients required multi-functional spaces that could be opened up or closed off, for example, when guests came to stay. Flexibility throughout the whole plan was a key feature of the brief as was making the space feel ‘generous’. The solution was using pocket door systems on the downstairs to make the most of the space available. The large bespoke sliding pocket door system used for the entry from the hallway to the main living area mirrored the sliding glass panel that then provided access into the garden. The architect chose Syntesis Line Estensione Double, because they wanted to use discrete extra large bespoke doors to help the house feel spacious and to allow more natural light throughout. The doors gave adaptability to the prope... More

Lukas Foundation

Interview with Karin Pascual, Lukas Foundation Communications Manager The Foundation is named after Lukas, a boy, now 16 years old, who suffers from a mitochondrial disease. Confined to a wheelchair, Lukas is unable to speak or move independently, which risks isolating him and his family from the outside world. Even short car trips are difficult and slow. “Fundación Lukas” was established as a pilot project out of the desire to create a place able to help and improve the quality of life of those who, like Lukas, have reduced psychomotor skills. At the design level, the building was constructed to be 85% self-sufficient and energy sustainable. The roof is fitted with a photovoltaic array to meet the centre's energy needs, and... More

Private apartment - Optimal use of the available space

Improving the subdivision of space in order to perfectly use the available environment and to obtain a more practical fruition in response to the inhabitants’ specific needs: this is the goal of the simple, rational layout of a private apartment in Sarano di Piave, on the outskirts of Conegliano, essentially composed of an open living area with a corridor leading to the bedrooms and two bathrooms. The owners, a couple with one child, took great care to plan the subdivision of the spaces, which required replacement of the hinged doors (their initial design choice) with five Eclisse Syntesis®Line sliding doors systems with no external finishes and jambs. Private mansion renovation

In the heart of Camprodon - holiday resort in the Pyrenees - there is a significant example of interior design, combining style and function in perfect harmony with the place and the existing architecture. The basic goal behind all the design choices was to create an open and free space without any limits in order to facilitate all movements of a person moving in a wheelchair, without abandoning the classic and refined style of a house with stone façade, set in a charming landscape. The project has been fully successful thanks to the choice of using sliding doors. The house has just one floor of about 200 m2. A central luminous space leads to other rooms through large openings, some of which reach up to 2 meters wide. The hidden syst... More
