Casa Borgoña is the home of an art and wine lover, a spirit kindred to Alfonso X “The Wise”, on whose avenue the residence is located. Just as the king once brought culture and knowledge to the city of Murcia, this house embraces that heritage and transforms it into architecture: a space where design, history, and everyday pleasure intertwine. The dwelling is organized around a key architectural gesture: a curved wooden corridor that acts as its backbone. SNFL is a new-generation library for all New Yorkers, with special facilities for young users, adult learning, and business. It offers the perfect contemporary complement to NYPL’s world-famous Stephen A. Schwarzman Building (SASB), located across Fifth Avenue from SNFL. SASB opened in 1911, designed by architects Carrère & Hastings in a glorious Beaux-Art style, and receives over 1.7 million visits a year as the mothership of NYPL’s reference collections. From outside... The gray envelope of the facade panels in the street, where there are mainly companies and car showrooms, fits in with the others. At first glance, however, it differs by its dark framed horizontal windows, which thus refer to the most famous, functionalist period of the city of Brno. With a little imagination, you can see the outlines of the famous Villa Savoy, an icon of the period. And thanks to these wide strip windows, there is enough light inside for all the offices in the administrative part of the building. Deluxe is a globally renowned media services and digital post-production, asset management and copyright protection company that works with a diverse and global client list.    As a progressive content media company, Deluxe has highly specialized audio/video requirements for their high-end production facility. Educational institutions are increasingly seeking ways to rethink and transform learning environments in a way that increases the possibility of exploration. With this aim in mind, The Private Sezin School in Istanbul approached ATÖLYE’s spatial design team in 2014, to design a space for for K-12 students to enable problem-based learning by engaging 21st century skills.Instead of considering educational structures in the conventional sense, ATÖLYE sought to reimagine the 1,700 m2 rooftop space of the Private Sezin School as a pedagogical laboratory, in which different facilities were integrated transparently.
