Transportation is one of the most relevant issues in the Nezahualcóyotl area, partly due to the high population concentration, mobility needs, and largely due to the deficiency in road infrastructure and mass public transportation. The city’s new bus terminal was one of the municipality’s main motivations when promoting the Detailed Plan of the Area of Castelo Branco Railway Station. An operating tool that led to the study of an extended group of alternatives in which to site the principal equipment, namely the new bus terminal. The aim consisted in creating a transport hub that would articulate the north platform of the railway station with a bus terminal and a new car park, providing comfortable connections between the two. Currently under construction, the new Transportation hub incorporates 9,000 sq.m of bus terminal with additional 9,000 sq.m of commercial space and six floors of office space on top.The breaking the traditional rectangular plan enables the creation of squares, urban spaces and commercial facades towards the surrounding streets. Collalbo makes you mobile: With the new mobility centre in Collalbo, Roland Baldi Architects and Pfeifer Partners have built a user-friendly transport hub with underground car park, parking lot and bus station. The connection to the nearby station of the historic Renon railway completes the local transport concept. The mobility centre was carefully coordinated in proportion and material with the Civil protection centre also designed by Roland Baldi Architects. A major transport hub Rouen Rive-Droite station is a major regional transport hub with over 6 million annual passengers, located in the densely built-up historic city centre of Rouen in Normandy. The station area today operates as the most important gateway to the urban region, but with its many extensive carriageways and disorganised public space, its character has deteriorated and the space forms a barrier to key pedestrian connections. In order to foster the integration of this large and central area into the city of Brno, it was vital to combine connectivity with a vibrant mixed use program. Achieving the same density as the traditional turn of the Century neighborhoods nearby yet giving a decisively green and recreational quality that will also cater to the city as a whole resulted in the concept of pedestrian access with strategically placed array of parking garages.   The organization of the new roads enables the area to be served efficiently by public transport so that busses can run in intervals of every few minutes, with walking distances of no more than 200m.
