Architecture and engineering firm DGB was tasked to design a new flexible office building at the client’s request.The client wanted the offices to complement the existing offices while also meeting the following requirements:A multifunctional meeting space with a bistro on the ground floor.The creation of new office space for approximately 120 staff, divided over 3 levels, but each connected to the existing building.The construction of an underground car park.The main challenge was the design of a multifunctional meeting space. McBride Elementary School
The original McBride Elementary School on Fort Benning was commissioned in 1966 and dedicated to the memory of CPT Morris R McBride who gave his life in Vietnam and was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for heroism. After many years of steady use, DODEA (Department of Defense Education Activity) and the U S Army Corp determined that Ft. Benning was due for a new McBride Elementary School and commissioned Parkhill Smith Cooper Architects (PCS) from Lubbock, Texas to design it.The new design is a “21st Century Education Facility” determined to meet the educational needs of its students in the future. Sands Capital
Back in October 2007, when Sands Capital Management was a small investment firm occupying 10,000 ft² of space, Gensler designed their space to provide flexibility and an upscale look to assist in the growth of the company. They installed one Classic 51 wall that was simply 20’ x 10’ to divide their conference room and allow for multiple functions at the same time.Fast forward to 2016. Sands has grown to become a major international investment firm with significant assets under its management. They leased 80,000 ft² on 4 floors across the street from their initial lease.
