For the restoration and transformation of the historic Valtimontalo building into RUNO Hotel Porvoo, Nikari supplied a selection of handcrafted solid-wood furniture that complements the hotel's warm, sensory approach to Nordic hospitality. The delivery included Arkipelago KVTT3 chairs for the spa area, Linea RMT3 and RMT6 chairs for guest and dining spaces, as well as a collection of bespoke tables tailored specifically for the project. Crafted in Finland from sustainably sourced wood, the furniture contributes to the hotel's atmosphere of understated luxury while honoring the character and heritage of the landmark Art Nouveau building. Our design transformed an existing, 40,000 SF two-story space, into a vibrant and functional modern office. This project is the adaptive reuse of an approximately fifty-year-old abandoned building on Fereshteh Street in Tehran. After years of neglect, much of its original identity and structural integrity had been lost. The design approach is rooted in preserving traces of the past while simultaneously redefining them within a contemporary framework, so that the building is not perceived as a erased memory, but as a living layer within a new spatial composition. Perched high above Orchard Road, it occupies the former penthouse residence of the Shaw family, whose extraordinary legacy helped shape Singapore's film industry.
