In the quiet streets surrounding London’s Alexandra Palace, Zminkowska De Boise Architects has transformed a modest Edwardian mid-terrace through a carefully considered 16 sqm rear extension and wider reworking of the family home. Designed around the daily lives of Claire and Andrew and their two young sons, the project uses colour, exposed structure, natural materials and improved visual connections to turn a previously cramped and disconnected ground floor into a generous, light-filled sequence of spaces. This former doctor's office has been completely renovated and converted into an apartment. The project has created a very open, spacious, and functional living space and highlights the panoramic view of the Place du Marché in Versailles. Very neutral colors were chosen to create a strong contrast with the bright lights outside. The idea was to create a minimalist and modern space which is also functionally optimal with the right aesthetics. The design mostly includes furniture pieces and décor items that have been tastefully sourced to suit the clients needs. ModCraft dimensional wall tile in custom glaze "Duke Blue" enriches the walls of this Chef's Kitchen in Duke University's West Campus building, designed by Grimshaw architects.  In 2016 Grimshaw office in New York accepted the challenge of reinventing the historic West Campus Union building at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
