Modern villa

The Cube 61 is a private house of travertine, dark walnut and black stone in Umm Suqeim 2, Dubai, completed in 2024. It is planned around a courtyard pool so that the dining room and the family rooms look onto water rather than onto the street. Towards the road it presents a composed, closed face of travertine, dark timber slats and a lit boundary wall, photographed at dusk beside a neighbouring villa the studio also designed. A modern villa has been designed for these rural surroundings in the north of Limburg. “The location of this property, in the heart of the fields, surrounded by greenhouses, was the starting point for the design. The house is a glasshouse with a slate shell. The whole building inclusive sun terrace has been built on a raised plateau, so that the building is visible as a landmark above the level of the surrounding fields. Although initially the focus was on renovating one floor, ultimately all levels of the villa were addressed. Various structural adjustments were necessary to improve sightlines and create more unity between spaces. Particularly, the kitchen underwent a complete redesign. The project emerges with its nature, landscape and flat land.  ECCE GROUP The land where the project is built also has an outdoor pool, winter garden, landscaping areas, outbuildings, mini animal shelter, botanical gardens, barbecue terrace, playground, parking lot and its own private garden.  ECCE GROUP In the exterior cladding, natural stone and wood are used to harmonize with the texture in the region. It consists of two parts - a main building and a garage unit, which includes rooms for personnel and a music studio.
