Villa Eira is a contemporary architectural oasis nestled on the hillside of Gerakari in Zakynthos. Carved into the landscape, it dissolves between olive groves, the sea horizon and the warm Ionian sun.
The project follows the minimalist philosophy of Lucy Lago, where architecture becomes therapy — a healing space that gently returns a person to inner peace. The freedom of light, the breath of air, and the tactile presence of natural materials serve the idea of creating a house that does not dominate nature, but continues its quiet poetry.
Pure horizontals, portals that frame the landscape, and natural stone and wood in nude earthy tones create a sense of almost meditative simplicity. Interiors flow seamlessly outdoors, erasing the boundaries between inside and outside, turning each terrace into a scene upon which a daily ritual of light, water and wind unfolds.
The infinity pool blends into the sea, mirroring the sky and enhancing the feeling of endlessness. The garden is designed as a wild, natural path: native plants, wildflowers and organic shapes are all meant to evoke the ancient beauty of the Earth to which we belong.
This villa is not just a home, but a philosophy of life: to live slowly, beautifully, consciously; to admire nature as art; and to remember that happiness lies in silence, light and simplicity.
