Ferraro House is a single-family residence located in a nautical gated community in Tigre, north of Buenos Aires. Boasting exclusive access to the natural canal that borders the site, the house is sited along a north-south axis at the head of a cul-de-sac; this strategic position results in only one neighboring lot, with two of its boundaries directly facing the water. Developed over three floors, the five-bedroom single-family home is spread over two floors above ground level and one floor below, incorporating a swimming pool and landscaped outdoor areas. The upper floor houses a roofed garage for four cars and five bicycles, a suite, and a support area, connected to the vertical communications. Sustaianability, urban infill, and assimilation to the site are amoung the driving forces behind the design at 1040 New York Street. Located in a wooded valley on the outskirts of Philadelphia, Sycamore Glen is a single-family home nestled among mature trees, overlooking Wister Creek. Bordered closely by neighboring houses to the west, the narrow site informed a linear organization and a careful balance of privacy, light, and views. The house is located on the border that separates a suburban development of single-family houses and a protected forest area. The main strategy followed in the project is to let the house take advantage of this special location and make the most of its double condition by merging them both; the wild nature of the forest on the one hand and the built or suburban environment on the other. A new family home is located on a sloped terrain in Holsbeek, Belgium on the edge of the forest with respect for its context, the surrounding trees, its orientation and the different viewpoints.  Tim Van de Velde The building volume is pushed into the terrain with the entrance, bedrooms and bathroom located on the ground floor to keep the rooms cool in warm weather conditions. The "House above the Lake" is situated on the northern slope of Lake Zurich. The sculptural building is enclosed by its rough surface facing the slope-side street, while it opens up towards the lake through its generous windows. The conceptual basis of the project arises from the creation of volumes with different levels that are interconnected, creating different exterior and interior spaces along the smooth topography of the land. The Comporta 10 residence is located on the Portuguese traditional village of Comporta. Surrounded by a pine forest, the building is placed on a mild sloping plot that favors sun exposure and the relationship with the landscape to the South. Caption Caption The one-story house is the result of a sum of volumes. The final mass has different angles of orientation, leaving semi-open and outdoor passages between them. This luxury residence was embedded into this steep hillside to overlook Lake Travis from two confluent directions. We were challenged to create views through, and access to, the pool from every room on the main level. In response, we created a glass jewell box that sits on top of a concrete plinth. The main entry area is an open void that bridges the lake to the user upon immediate entry. The lower level is is comprised of four individual private suites that pierce through the concrete shell to accommodate lake views.   More

Designed for Bay Area luminaries in Atherton, California this residence reflects a well-orchestrated response to a host of requirements, technologies, and amenities. Built for living, working, entertaining, and play, the diverse building program created the opportunity to weave a rich tapestry of form, materials, and details that reveal themselves at every corner. Anchored by the primary palette of Sapele wood and Jerusalem Limestone, the structure radiates warmth and elegance. By ‘folding’ the front yard down to the basement level, the building sensitively reduces its height and presence on the site; and through expansive glass and openings creates an engaging dialogue with the outdoors.
