This intervention consisted of restoring the facilities of the sports centre in the municipality of Santo Domingo Zanatepec, Oaxaca, in the Istmo of Tehuantepec Region. The way children perceive space may be slightly different from how we adults perceive it. That's what I thought as I casually watched the client's daughter play with her younger sister using toys. Yosuke Ohtake Toy furnitures could no longer fit inside the red-roofed house, so they gathered up the tables and refrigerators that were sticking out and arranged them on the flooring. Sometimes it became a dining room under the blue sky, or a study room where children came home from school and did their homework together. Tasked with building only 950 Sq.Mt. on a site that would normally have been built out to 1500 Sq.Mt. meant that the project could be designed free from the need to conform to the outer setback line mandated by city planners. To this end, an internal brief was created - that 40% of the house must be a garden and 60% of the house must look into it. Hence the name, 40/60 House. The built project is the result of a reconstruction. The pre-existing structure was intended for an industrial unit and saw its facilities completely compromised due to the occurrence of a fire. Since the necessary conditions to proceed with the recovery of the remaining structure are not verified, we found at this point the opportunity to rethink the industrial production space. Cicerón 213 Located in Polanco, one if not the most exclusive neighborhood in Mexico City, this residential project holds 4 apartments, one per floor.  The project aligns with the local urban normativity which mandates a three-meter restriction from the street on the first three levels plus another three meters on the fourth floor. Finally, the normativity mandates an extra meter at the front on one of the sides of the plot. Taking this in consideration, the front limits of the building create an imaginary zig zag line that goes deeper into the plot from left to right.
