Plano House, located in the Morro do Chapéu Golf Club Condominium in Nova Lima, Minas Gerais, was designed for a couple over 60 who wanted a single-story, functional residence.

In addition to being a space to welcome family and friends, the house was meant to be a true retreat for rest and relaxation! The full integration between indoor and outdoor spaces creates a sense of unity, making this a key feature of the project. Every room in the house provides direct access to the land, allowing for a completely “barefoot on the grass” experience!

The “U”-shaped layout was conceived to create a cozy internal courtyard with views of the condominium’s golf course, while also ensuring total privacy from the neighbors.
The structure is mixed: two reinforced concrete blocks connected by a metal roof, which appears to lightly rest atop the blocks, forming a large span for the internal social area. As a result, this social area has a higher ceiling than the rest of the house.

The private wing of the residence, with four suites, is located in the concrete block on the right side. The left-side concrete block houses the garage, workshop, laundry room, pet area, outdoor powder room, and a fitness space. The social area features a professional-grade kitchen integrated with a gourmet veranda, wine cellar, indoor powder room, and comfortable living rooms connected to a home office, as requested by the clients.

The central roof is made of thermoacoustic tiles, metal trusses, a cumaru wood slatted ceiling, and corten steel perimeter cladding. Additionally, the roof appears flat at the back and gradually “lifts off” toward the front façade, creating an opening for natural ventilation and lighting through tall windows.

Moledo stone was chosen as the main cladding for the front façade, serving both as a visual anchor and as a privacy element from the street.
