Milada Cottage in the Krkonoše Mountains mixes urban flair with rustic charm

Situated on a hillside in the Krkonoše Mountains, Milada Chalet is a newly built cottage with a contemporary form that follows the scattered development of surrounding cottages. Designed by Prague-based architectural studio ADR, the residence is part of the small Czech village of Malá Úpa, a picturesque ski resort. Milada’s shape is inspired by the region’s traditional mountain cottages (and named after the owner’s mother and grandmother); it has a rectangular floor plan set horizontally into the slope. Toronto-based multidisciplinary design studio Dubbeldam Architecture + Design has created a characterful and multi-generational wooden cottage on the banks of Lake Catchacoma in Ontario, Canada. The one-story Catchacoma Cottage is made up of three distinct volumes unified beneath a single roof with steep sloping rooflines. Pilgrim's Guesthouse

The new Guesthouse-Hermitage is located within the Monastic Complex of Siloe, which spans an area of 38,000 square meters across a network of hilly pathways. The four living units, designated as external guest accommodations for occasional visitors to the Siloe community, are seamlessly integrated into the natural terrain and have been constructed without altering the surrounding landscape, pioneering a new form of sustainable living. A nursery school with a capacity of 60 children is located in a suburban residential area in Tsurumi Ward, Yokohama City. The planned site area is located in a region designated by Yokohama City as a “priority development area” due to the high demand for nursery schools. However, in densely populated residential areas, there are few opportunities to have a site large enough for a nursery school. Chapel Saint John Paul II. Almudena Cathedral

The new chapel dedicated to Saint John Paul II has been designed as a cedar wooden shell,  which reveals the original stone. Álvaro Viera Cedrela odorata, the main material, fills the space with its texture and color, as a reference to the pontiff´s love for Nature. Emixi Architectes designs a temporary classroom pavilion in a park

Lausanne-based Emixi Architectes has completed the design and build of a temporary classroom pavilion in Romanel-sur-Lausanne, a municipality in Switzerland. Located in Prazqueron Park, the contemporary, single-story building has four corner classrooms, each with direct access to the outside. Generously glazed facades connect the classroom pavilion with its park setting and flood internal spaces with an abundance of natural light.
