Antonio Cacurio is an architect who graduated from IUAV University of Venice in 2002. He is the founder of Studio Cacurio, based in Dolo, Italy, and co-founder of Madreforma.
His practice focuses on residential architecture, renovation and the adaptive reuse of existing buildings, with projects ranging from interiors to new homes, extensions and the restoration of historic properties.
Each project begins with listening to the people who will inhabit it and understanding its setting. Light, materials and proportions inform the design of understated, comfortable spaces that respond to everyday life. When working with existing buildings, particular attention is given to the relationship between original features and new interventions, preserving the character of each property while introducing a contemporary architectural language.
The studio develops projects from initial concept through completion, bringing together architecture, interior design and careful construction detailing.
