Located in a small spot in front of the Pyramid of Cholula's archaeological site, we designed this lunch spot (which was originally meant to be a juice bar) with two young chefs who had previously worked in important local spots and were now ready to undertake their own personal project.

The concept for the space is born under the premise of the gastronomic proposal: 'natural and fresh'. Natut is a space conceived to pamper body and soul, pausing time to enjoy while you consciously nurish your body. So we decided to represent this idea through materials and colors which reflected such, without falling into cliches.

Yellow, a color found in nature, was the base and it links the neutral tones of pinewood and the natural stones of the terrazo tiles we custom designed and had made for the project, thus generating an armonic space where the only aim is for costumers to enjoy the gastronimic experience.

Distribution was the most challenging thing in the project due to the dimensions of the space. We has to divide it in two sections lenghtwise, separated by a corridor which connects both, services (kitchen, pantry, cleaning closet and bathroom) and dining area which is also subsequently divided in three sub-spaces: a small 'terrace' which serves as lobby and waiting area for pick up and delivery, following is the main dining area where a long bench and tables are aligned to the wall, and finally, a small nook with a hanging chair and a beautiful handpainted plant mural as a backdrop which also hides the bathroom.

We believe the project integration and understanding of the context, the correct use of space and the radical transformation through the use of color and materiality as well as the understanding of the customs and dynamics of the locals, are what give this project an aesthetic that separates it from others, and achieves in its interior an atmosphere that directs the experience of the diners, to the enjoyment of what the chefs prepare every day.
