Black Mirror is a sculptural wall object that reinterprets the traditional mirror through the tension between precision and imperfection. A perfectly circular mirror is framed by an irregular black steel outline that both defines and disrupts the expected form.
The design explores the dialogue between symmetry and spontaneity. The circle represents clarity, balance, and stillness, while the asymmetrical frame introduces movement and subtle distortion. This contrast creates a visual tension that invites curiosity and encourages the viewer to look twice.
Crafted from a circular mirror set within a custom black steel frame, the piece slightly lifts away from the wall, allowing light and shadow to enhance its graphic presence. The matte black finish strengthens the contrast between the calm reflective surface and the expressive contour surrounding it.
