A place for student meetings and events can't be imagined any other way. It is bright and utilitarian, transformable and recognisable. There were a number of challenges in this project, the first of which was to make it iconic at the lowest possible cost, but very distinctive. For this purpose hot-rolled metal, brass and chipboard panels were used. Tinexta commissioned Progetto CMR and Progetto Design & Build to design its new headquarters in Piazza Vetra, central Milan, consolidating the group's subsidiary companies into a single workspace focused on knowledge sharing. Caption Occupying approximately 4,000 sqm across two floors, the layout separates operational functions from executive offices. The space is organized along a branched plan where each company operates in dedicated wings connected to a central entry hub on the third floor. The project is based on the idea of transforming an apartment into a space that reflects the identity of its residents. Designed for a young couple and their first daughter, the duplex was reorganized to prioritize the integration of the spaces and the fluidity of the floor plan, strengthening the connections between the areas of shared living. The minimalist and contemporary language engages with Brutalist references through its materiality, exposed concrete slab, spiral staircase, and use of natural stone. Located in a listed historic building in Old Tbilisi, this project adapts a compact apartment for contemporary living while incorporating references to the city’s architectural heritage. Caption The main design challenge was to use the limited floor area efficiently while retaining a sense of openness. A mezzanine takes advantage of the generous ceiling height, organising the interior across two levels and accommodating additional functions within the existing volume. Three stacked boxes rest on a floating platform above Bangkok's narrow street, lifted to create a quieter working environment away from the bustle below, while opening up views and allowing for nine parking spaces underneath. The decision to divide the building into three separate boxes responds to the tight urban condition of the site. Rather than creating one large, monolithic mass along the narrow and busy street, the smaller volumes break down the scale of the building and allow more light to reach the surrounding neighborhood.
