Two egg-shaped surfaces intersect each other on staggered planes.
One in brass the other in raw finish steel, are independently supported by a joint system of reversed material.
Four zeta-like support, arranged to create a centrifugal shape, are fastened to these surfaces becoming a solid squared base through a four slit assembly. The groove and tongue joints (literally traduced from Italian with male – female joints, as well as “Lei e Lui” would be He and She) together with the gravity pull from the top surface allow the stability of the entire system.
Strictness and accuracy of this mechanical and geometrical junction system is in sweet contrast with softness and sinuosity from the curvy countertops.
Lei and Lui are two independent objects, different for height and opposite in material, that can be combined in several solutions accordingly to the space in which they are placed. The tables can communicate in different ways like gathering rather than separating or rotate to originate a countless range of shapes.
In every possible combination, thanks to their material duality, the bond between the objects result in a whole that become more than just the addition of the parts.
