Fabricoil® coiled wire fabric serves as the foundational material for all Cascade Architectural systems. It inspires architects and designers with its vibrant color and texture, exceptional light interplay, and flexibility. The panels are both open and closed, capable of serving numerous functions across various applications and can extend up to 40 feet in length.

Fabricoil® Coiled Wire Fabric is recognized as one of the few architectural-grade woven wire mesh materials available today. Its manufacturing begins with base metal wire options including aluminum, steel, stainless steel, copper-clad steel, or solid brass. The choice of wire type and gauge affects weight, performance, and aesthetics, making certain materials more suitable for specific applications. The experienced team at Cascade Architectural is ready to assist in selecting the ideal material and gauge for the clients' project needs.

Fabricoil® coiled wire fabric combines flexible and rigid characteristics, performing similarly to traditional woven metal mesh but often at a lower cost. This affordability allows architects and designers to unleash their creativity, transforming even modest budgets into exceptional architectural solutions.

Manufacturing process

The manufacturing process involves interlocking metal wire coils using a corkscrew method to create flexible panels. Skilled craftsmen utilize advanced machinery to produce the wire spirals in various weave sizes. Panel lengths correspond to the installation site's opening height, while widths are virtually limitless, with fullness values determining material requirements for aesthetic effect. Panel edges are hand-crimped, and the finished panels are secured to the chosen attachment system on-site.

Reference projects

Venafi Headquarters

Venafi, a software company, moved to a new space in Salt Lake City and worked closely with Steven Christensen Architecture to create an open workspace without private offices. They used Fabricoil® coiled wire fabric to create semi-private spaces within the open office, enabling natural light to filter through while providing privacy and outside views.

Signify Health

Fabricoil® coiled wire fabric was used at Signify Health's new office to create an eye-catching metal screen. This unique material served a dual purpose: it provided functionality and further allowed for a sense of openness while still maintaining some privacy within the space. Its use improved the overall design, showcasing the innovative and careful approach to the interior design.

Coffeebar

Coffeebar in Menlo Park, California, utilizes Fabricoil® coiled wire fabric for both visuals and functionality. The metal chain curtains made from Fabricoil® pay homage to Silicon Valley's biking culture, adding a unique texture and movement to the space. These lightweight and flexible fabrics create partitions that separate different areas while maintaining an open environment. The metallic finish of Fabricoil® adds an industrial touch that complements the overall design characterized by steel and glass materials. The interplay of light through the coiled wire fabric provides soft natural illumination and enhances the interior atmosphere.
