With the popular, cylindrical Flindt Bollard as his starting point, Christian Flindt has created the stunning new Flindt Wall: a circular fixture that brings bold, sculptural illumination to both indoor and outdoor spaces. The Flindt Wall continues the elegant form language of its predecessor – and is based on the same carved-out design.
Like the Flindt Bollard, the Flindt Wall is distinguished by a light egress from an opening in the top that sends light from two LED light sources down the front of the fixture, creating a subtle, glowing ring of reflected light on the transition between the concave and convex shapes. The front of the fixture becomes the reflector, and a portion of the light is distributed backwards, creating an indirect light component in the shape of a half-moon. The multiple effects create attractive, subtle luminance for a warm, human ambience, both indoors and out. Outdoors, combining the Flindt Wall and Flindt bollard in path and building illumination creates a visually engaging, unified aesthetic.
Christian Flindt worked with a combination of software, 3D printing, and metal casting to ensure the perfect balance between proportions, curves and light in the three Flindt Wall sizes. From the side, the Flindt Wall resembles a slim ellipse consisting of two overlapping ovals. The oval shape is lifted off the mounting surface, giving the fixture a light, floating appearance. The Flindt Bollard is available in standard colours; Alu Grey, White, and Corten.
The fixture emits an asymmetrical non glary, downward directed light distribution. Softly illuminating its cut-out shape while providing an efficient horisontal illumination on the ground or floor. Perfectly fit for indoor as well as outdoor applications.
