Element5’s glulam is an engineered wood product composed of machine stress-rated SPF (spruce-pine-fir) lumber bonded under pressure with waterproof adhesives, suitable for structural applications such as columns, beams, rafters, purlins, and braces across residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial buildings.
Element5 manufactures glulam in a range of sizes to CSA 0122 standard for structural timber, with precision fabrication supported by 3-axis CNC production. The product can be left exposed in many applications, allowing the inherent character of engineered wood to be expressed in both structural and architectural contexts.
Element5’s glulam is produced in an FSC-certified facility, reinforcing responsible sourcing and support for sustainable forest management. A Type III Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) has been prepared for Element5 glulam in accordance with ISO 14025 and ISO 21930 standards, providing cradle-to-gate environmental information that can inform material selection and embodied carbon considerations. The product is also listed on the Declare platform with a Declare label, offering transparency regarding material content and conformity with Living Building Challenge material disclosure requirements.
