Green Code Thermodecke® is an insulated, semi-precast concrete floor system comprising a 5.5–6.5 cm-thick factory-produced concrete slab with a smooth, metal-formwork finish. Continuous thermal insulation, minimum transverse reinforcement, and stainless-steel lattice girders are incorporated during manufacture. After installation, additional structural reinforcement and in-situ concrete are added to create a monolithic loadbearing floor system.
The continuous factory-installed insulation helps prevent thermal bridges and close insulation gaps at critical junctions, particularly between heated accommodation and unheated basements or underground car parks. Integrating the insulation and reinforcement within the precast element eliminates separate on-site insulation installation and reduces the need for conventional shuttering, supporting shorter construction times and lower site labour requirements. Factory production also provides controlled quality and precise material use, while the protected insulation, durable concrete construction, and recyclable concrete and steel components support long-term performance and end-of-life material recovery.
