The architectural approach at Lower Mill was intentionally a very simple one. To avoid overwhelming the historic texture of the existing building by installing a series of minimal, monotone interventions.
In the kitchen, this came in the form of a black steel island, table, stairwell and not much else.
Following this mindset, Mclaren Excell decided to match the material pallette and minimal form with bespoke black steel pendant lights that either fade away in busier areas or stand out in clean ones.
In the kitchen, they perfectly compliment the metal furniture, and in the master bedroom, they stand out as feature lights to contrast against the brighter tones.
