This 400 meter long wooden footbridge in the heart of Rotterdam has become an iconic object over years. The former Shell office building is now located on the footbridge, the home-office for 'Laatbloeien werkt!
This building was given new access on the track side, which had to be closed with a gate. The building has been regularly daubed with graffiti in the past and therefore fencing was desirable to counteract this.
A "standard" fence would detract from the image of the walkway: this gave rise to the idea of ??developing a special fence. '
Linda van Vleuten (Opperclaes) made a beautiful design of Tribar figures, which were integrated into a Tribar fence and gate. The designers of ZUS developed a beautiful whole that ultimately resulted in a unique fence with integrated sliding gate that fits perfectly with the walkway with a unique color scheme with a lot of transparency.
